Harold Ogle
Its jacket covered with hyperbolic praise, this book intrigued me enough that I borrowed it from our local library. The only reason this is not a 5 star book for me are the pathetic and unrealistic female characters. As they are not contributing to the story and are not often seen it does not bother me much, so I can say that the overall story and other characters are great. I must confess I would not even notice that 'problem' with female characters if I had not read a couple of reviews here. The breadth of the world was way too deep and not enough explanations were given. I finally started to enjoy it throughout the last couple hundred pages when it started to make sense. Hopefully the second one will be better. ...more
