What Members Thought
4.0 to 4.5 stars. This is an excellent book and one that I could easily see myself giving 5 stars to if I had been more in the mood for a slightly leisurely pace. The writing is superb, the plot is complex and intelligent and the magical elements are really uniquely done and very interesting. I especially enjoyed the discussion near the end of the book of WHY magic has disappeared from the European continent). These kinds of details always add to the richness of the narrative.

I selected this novel as my next audiobook based on a number of reviews praising the narration/voice acting. What a great story made even better by the fantastic reading by Bronson Pichot! I have seen a number of good novels spoiled by the narration but this is perhaps the first where I think I enjoyed listening to the book even more than I would have reading it. All the voices and accents had me talking like a pirate all week!

اگه فیلم های دزدان دریایی کاراییب رو دیده باشید، با خوندن این کتاب تک تک صحنه های اون فیلم ها واستون تداعی میشه. حتی اسم شخصیت ها هم تقریبا مشابه فیلمه.
البته توی مقدمه کتاب اشاره شده که فیلمنامه نویس ها یه نگاهی به این کتاب داشتن.
یه کتاب فانتزی جادویی ماجراجویی که پر از صحنه های اکشنه، سرگرمتون میکنه.
