I'd remembered the first part of the story well enough - but had forgotten the morality tale experiences Bastian went thru in the rest of the novel.
Still a good read, tho perhaps not as moving as when I was young. I missed the red vs green text of the copy I read as a child - the paperback used italics for the frame story. ...more

another movie that i saw back in my childhood days, and discovered a few years ago that it was based on a book.
it's a captivating book, i just couldn't put it down.
my favourite character and storyline in the book would be when it was told from atreyu's point of view.
