I could not stand the whole diner insider lingo garbage. It was not interesting enough for me to read anymore of this series.
Odd has always been odd. He can see ghosts and something more - he can see bodachs, malevolent creatures that flock to the scene of pain and tragedy. Few people know Odd's secret and they know mostly because Odd has been using his talent to set things right. When Odd comes across a strange man who is followed by Bodachs and keeps files on serial killers, he knows that something major is about to occur. A couple of my favorite writing friends talked this book up, so I finally squeezed it in between spots in my long reading list. Wow. I have never before read Dean Koontz, and I have no idea what his other books are like, but I LOVED the Odd Thomas character. I admired the writing so much. What a cool/unique/fascinating character.
I read this book on my father's recommendation...and he is not one to pick up a Koontz book. It had been YEARS since I had read him, back in my horror days in Jr. High. However, this book was so different and so amazing. I am hooked on the series!
