Objectively, I understand why this book's been so popular, reaching a cult status. But personally, I was rather bored by its episodic nature. Yes, it was funny that a lory driver was hit by a flying tuna fish (or whatever fish it was), but I was more interested in the fate and the background of the main characters. I guess I'm just not cut for Neil Gaiman's writing. He has great ideas but I think I have a problem with his style (I didn't enjoy "American Gods" until I started skipping the introdu

This book was really funny and a fast page turner. There is one scene with a flaming car that had me in hysterics.

An absolutely hilarious roller-coaster ride of a novel about Crowley a devil "he didn't so much fall as saunter vaguely downwards", an angel and their attempts to prevent the end of the world as we know it. A full on blend of British rapier sharp wit and irony and an absolutely rollicking read. Not recommended to be read while in buses or trains as you are liable to disturb other passengers and they are liable to think you have suddenly lost all your marbles.

Pretty good, so far. I love Neil Gaiman and have never read Terry Pratchett, although I always meant to. This book falls into the "clever" category; it's very witty. I used to really enjoy books like this when I was younger but I think I am outgrowing this genre at my ripe old age.
