This is where I gave up when I was reading the series. I think this would be a much better series if it was abridged down to about half the size.
We get a rehash of the battle of Dumai's Wells. We get a rehash of moghedian's escape.
Rand finally finishes what he started in Illian in the last book. He seems to be having Anger issues (this does not make him a more likeable character).
Padan Fain makes an appearance.
Mat gets used as a boy toy (that was actually kind of funny). Unfortunately, he didn't ...more

I'm still on board with this series because I enjoy the stories and the depth of the world creation, although this book seems to be in a bit of a lull on the story arc. I'm getting a little annoyed with some of the character quirks that are repeated over and over like Nynaeve tugging her braid, etc. (it just seems lazy to rely on them). I'm also getting tired of the male characters talking about how they don't understand the female and vice-versa. Sometimes I feel like I'm reading Men Are From M

I think this is the one where I gave up on reading the series. Partway through the book I realized that in 200 pages whoever it was had not made it across the street!! I threw the book across the room, and have not read any since. I would like to finish the series but the only way that is going to happen is if someone puts out an abridged version.
