What Members Thought

This is probably closer to a 3 1/2. My regular complaints still apply, but the action is starting to amp up which is a double-edged sword. I like that things are starting to unfold, but I don't enjoy battle scenes very much, and they are inevitable when this sort of epic saga starts to climax. The Seanchan/Rand battle scenes were not my favorite, but I'm loving what's happening with Nynaeve and Elayne and w/ Elaida in the White Tower. Some quick observations:
If anyone gets stripped naked or spanked in these books, it is most likely a female. So now we know what turned Robert Jordan on.
Robert Jordan can describe every detail of clothing, nuance of facial expression and every thought and smell in excruciating detail, but when it comes to actually describing events so I can understand what is happening, forget it. I'm still pretty much in the dark as to what happened, who and why during the assassination attempt. For that matter ...more
