This book read like a high schooler wrote it. A plot devoid of any surprises and full of completely flat characters made for an incredibly long and painful reading experience.

Rating: Five Stars

Edition: Mass Market Paperback

Genre: Fantasy

I would find myself annoyed by how poorly put a passage had been--and then forget because I was caught up in the story. I'm starting the second book in the series now, but am not sure how far I'll get. ...more

I have to admit that I wasn't very impressed with the first book in this series. I actually think that this is the weakest of the books. The series does get better, as it strays away from the standard fantasy motiff. Don't get me wrong, I would still call these books fantacy. ...more
