Checked Jennifer Government out of the library, based on a couple of online recommendations.

In this book, the world is basically run by corporations - everyone's last name is the organization he/she works for - with two conglomerations - USA Alliance and Team Alliance battling it our for control.

We meet Hack Nike, who is given a rather unorthodox assignment to promote the company's latest offering by John Nike. He's also being pursued by Jennifer Government for personal reasons. Other character

I have tried to delve into this book, but alas, it simply isn't capturing my attention...perhaps I'm just not in the mood to read this type of 'neo-punk writing'(as [another bXer] so descriptively stated) or as [bXer] mentioned, I wasn't able to 'turn off my suspension of disbelief'. Whatever the case, I do appriciate the opportunity to try this (Thanks [bookcrosser]!) but I think I will pass this along to [anoterh bXer], where I hope it is more to her liking. ...more

This is the book I give to new friends. It is one of my all time favorites and it is readily accepted and enjoyed by non-sci-fi people. I've neer had one come back yet and that has not been true for other favorites like Altered Carbon and The Skinner. ...more

Imagine 1984, but instead of government having taken over it's big corporations who are in charge...and not quite so well written. ...more

Bland. The characters were bland, the action was bland, the story was bland. This is a dystopian story about the over corporatization of the world. Of course the corporate world was made a villian as well as the NRA. There was also the cheering for big government that fuels the Left's world. ...more
