I checked out Bitten from the library based on a reference to it in an onlike discussion about urban fantasy.

80 pages in and I found the "I'm tying you up so you can't refuse the sex I want, but don't have to feel guilty for sleeping with me when you don't really want to" too icky to continue with the book. What can I say, rape fantasy is not my thing. ...more

The first book in the Women of the Otherworld series. Bitten introduces the characters of Elena, Clay, Jeremy and their small werewolf pack. It definitely presents a different angle on werewolves. Elena is the only woman werewolf, and she was bitten, not born a werewolf. She left her pack in New York, moves to Toronto where she embarks on a journalistic career, and is dating a very nice human. I didn't like this as much as I wanted to. That seems to be my experience of the first book of many paranormal romance series', but it's still disappointing. I found Elena pretty unsympathetic and didn't really connect with any of the other characters either. It wasn't a bad story, and I'll probably continue with the series at some point, but I was expecting more from what seems to be such a popular series. ...more

Pretty good werewolf book. Not my favorite, but I would read the sequel. AFTER catching up on the Kitty novels. :-)
