I was pretty disappointed with this book. It was nowhere near what I have come to suspect from vinge. It was just boring. I didn't care about the characters or their "mission". On the plus side there were some interesting concepts.

A future with wearable computers, wireless Internet connections everywhere, user-designed "views" of the world, a famous poet medically rehabilitated after Alzheimer's Disease, his teenage grandaughter and a white rabbit that appears from time to time. Normally this sort of story wouldn't appeal to me and I picked it up only because the author is one of my favorite SciFi writers, Vernor Vinge.

The first half was slow but the second half improved a great deal. Nowhere near as good as Fire or Sky sadly but still a very interesting read.
Neat idea and tech but I was bored silly.
