I am not sure WHY i like these books so much... but they are very entertaining to me. Yeah i lost some sleep on this one, i was up way past my bedtime reading AGAIN, just to see how Rachel was going to get out of each mess. I liked this one even better than the last, i guess I attribute that to Kisten, yeah i like his character. Yeah hot bad boy thing goin on for Kisten.

Genetic engineering has wiped out a large portion of humanity in this modern day novel. The carrier of the virus was tomatoes. Humans find out next that supernatural creatures such as vampires and witches have always lived among them. They were immune to the virus and come out in an event called “the turning” to take their place in the population. Humanity still recovering from the virus reluctantly agrees to integrate these “people”. Those who are not human seem to have the blanket term “Inderl

The third Rachel Morgan book. I found this to be the saddest one (but still good) I've read so far, but I know that book five will probably change that. (Warning: If you have not read the fifth book yet, don't visit Harrison's website, as there is a big spoiler on the home page). You have to know that I'm following this series under duress only, being its translator and all. If I could, I would drop it, seriously. Unfortunately, it's not an option.
Every time I start thinking I actually like Rachel Morgan, she proves me wrong, turning out to be the same annoying, obnoxious bitch she has always been. And this book is no exception. I really love how she can justify one thing but go all righteously indignant about another. Especially where Trent Kalamack is concerned.

This book didn't really get going for me until around 300 pages in--not great, when it clocks out at ~450. The last action-packed bit was fun, though; I just wish that the beginning hadn't been so uninspiring. But I'm starting the next book right now, so obviously this wasn't that much of a deterrent.

You know you're in trouble when the lurid cover makes you (and by you, I mean me) pull out the construction paper to make a cover so that the T ride in to work is not so embarrassing. It's starting to get a little too Anita Blakey, but still plenty entertaining. It may not be the Buffyverse, but sometimes it's fun to enjoy a substitute. (April 29, 2007)
