I was a little disappointed in this book, but I don't think it was because it was particularly. It's no secret that I like heroic heroines, and Tally disappoints me. I know she is programmed and controlled, but dealing with her being so bigoted and mean was hard for me.

I debated what to rate this, kept thinking 3.5 stars, but for the sake of the love I have for Uglies, I rounded up to a 4. I definitely felt like this one was more action-oriented, and that the character development that drew me in previously was a little more lacking. I also wasn't hugely thrilled by the ending, which felt like it came out of nowhere to me, even though I noted all the hints that led into it.

Better than book 3. I enjoyed all of it, but I still can't decide if I like the ending. Poor Tally deserved a little more of real happiness I think.
