I have read several presidential biographies and memoirs in the past, but this is the first autobiography of a vice-president. Mainly I read this because I knew it would include Beau Biden's fight with cancer. What I liked about it was that Joe interleaved his thoughts about Beau as well as his projects in office: Ukraine, Iraq and Central America.

It is definitely worth reading.

A heart touching account of the tragedy of losing Beau Biden, Joe’s subsequent decision against running for president, but most importantly the resiliency and strength of the close Biden family. The book takes place while Biden is Vice President, so it is not surprising that a good amount of the text is about policy and foreign affairs, which was necessary but not the most interesting content in the book.
