I received this book a First Reads win and was excited to read it because it sounded very much like the sort of thing I would enjoy. It was only after it arrived that I realised it was a sequel to Firefly Lane. Fearing that this lack of previous knowledge would somehow lessen my enjoyment of the book, I purchased a copy of Firefly Lane and read that first. It was okay, but I didn’t really enjoy the writing. This had me putting off reading Fly Away because I thought it would be more of the same.

I really liked Firefly Lane, and I was really looking forward to this book coming out. I loved revisiting some of my favorite characters, but I was disappointed with ALL THE DRAMA! I do expect some amount of drama from Hannah, but this was just too much! Every single possible thing that could go wrong went wrong in this book! The characters were still great!

I enjoyed this sequel to Firefly Lane more than I enjoyed the first book. At first, I thought it was very depressing and that Hannah should have stopped after she wrote Firefly Lane. But in the end, this novel was a lot better than the first. I loved the characters, the details of their lives and the storyline.
This was an okay novel . The big con of this book is that it's extremely depressing for 3/4 of the book. You have to really force yourself to stick with the novel. I kept going because I really wanted to know the story and what would happen to Tully. The only positive I found from it is that it gives a message of not judging others and to not live in the past .

Beautiful. I loved the fact that I finally got to find out the story behind Cloud/Dorothy. Getting a peek inside her head as well has Marah and Tully was great. :)
