Every book I have read by Albom I have thoroughly enjoyed, and this one is no exception. More than anything, I really liked how he described his little family, and discussed what makes up a family.

I did love Albom’s other books especially “Tuesdays with Morrie” and “The five people you meet in heaven”. Finding Chika however is a sad story filled with notions of death, illness, and some references to religion.

I could not get past the first third of the book. It was extremely depressing with not even a brim light in sight. Maybe I am getting too sensitive these days that there are bad news from everywhere in the world, but I don’t need to read and go through the details of pre and post dea

You'd have to have the heart of Mitch McConnell not to be moved by this story of Chika, the little Haitian girl that Mitch Albom and his wife cared for while she underwent cancer treatment in the states. That said, this isn't the type of I normally would read (it is for a library book discussion I am moderating) and I have very mixed feelings about both the content and the writing. I read this in audiobook format, which as it was read by the author, but more importantly, had many recordings of Chika herself added immensely to the book.

It is a moving story, as most all of his books are, and one worth a slow think over.
