It’s intriguing starts. One particular event which marked her memories of a lifetime. It leads us to believe that ‘that’ moment is the source of her shame, hence the title of the book, La Honte (Shame).

The shame was different than shame I have experienced and it was a decidedly French class shame, but a wonderful examination of the concept.
