Around the World in Eighty Days was my Classics Club spin pick this time. I had never read it before. I had never seen the movie. I actually knew nothing about the story.

The story takes place in the 1870s. Phileas Fogg bets his friends a boatload of money that he can travel all around the world in eighty days. Yes, well now I have read it, at long last. This was quite the journey. I vicariously traveled with some crazy characters through terrible conditions in or on a variety of conveyances.

Constantly the stress of time constraints weighed on the servant, Passepartout, but his master, Phileas Fogg, remained calm and peaceful. What a great contrast between the traveling companions!
