This is one of the finest books I have ever read. I suspect it was made even better by having Mr Gaiman read it to me. I'm not even sad that it's over, because I know I'm going to read it again, in print, maybe next year.

Sometimes I think about who I'd want with me if stranded on a desert island, and Neil Gaiman frequently makes the list. And yet...sunny and tropical does not suit him. The island would need to be grey and murky with an inner urban core. Neverwhere is just so...Gaiman. And listening to him perform the audiobook is a fabulous way to experience the story! I would read a whole series of books about the adventures of Croup and Vandemar (and I just picked up the Neverwhere mini-series from the library

I honestly, and don't shoot me, don't know what all the hype about Neil Gaimon is about. I did really like his comic books, and I've loved all the films he's been involved with, I just don't like his books. I don't think his style of writing is very developed, and while his plots are fantastic and he obviously has thousands and thousands of amazing ideas, I think his writing is somewhat dull. But that's just me.
