I'm giving this book 2-1/2 stars in my Reading Log. It got better and I think Chapter 4 was basically worth the whole book. Up till then, it just wasn't happening; I wasn't being drawn into the characters or setting. At times it was a bit confusing. But, there was some good insights here about honor & shame in Iranian culture--a very Asian characteristic. Again, the mistreatment of women in general that often does characterize some honor & shame cultures is made evident. It's sad.

Really enjoyed this one. The settings and plot were enthralling and incredibly rich. I only wish I could have changed the end on it. I felt things were left unresolved. All in all, this was one I had a hard time putting down!
Starting to listen to it on the way home tonight.
