It has been a long time since I read a Picoult book, and I think that helped me enjoy it more. They all seem to have a very definite pattern. That being said, I appreciate the way she dives right in to controversial topics and explores them through interesting characters. I found this particular story quite gripping. I was sad to not have more closure about Lucy. As a reader I don't like to be left with questions (that's what she said in the notes at the end, she wanted to leave the reader with ...more

I have never been a huge Jodi Picoult fan, but this book really captured my interest from the jacket where it said that everyone has a soundtrack to their life. She refers to songs which you associate with different stages of your life. So I just read the last 200 pages in one sitting because I HAD to know how it ended. I can't remember the last time I said that about a book. I just might check out a few more of her more recent books. ...more

This book was awesome and has become one of my favorites. I had high expectations for this novel and Jodi Picoult met them. At times I worried that it wouldn't end in a positive way. But it did and Jodi did a great job of giving fair voice to both sides of the debate with the issues involved in this novel. I look forward to Jodi's next novel. ...more

I’m still new to Jodi Picoult’s books. This one blew me out of the water. So many thoughts and feeling I had to deal when I was coming out, man she blew them open. I felt raw and hopeful. Then angry enough I wanted to throw the book!

This one will haunt me for awhile.
