Kerouac is not my favourite author, but I enjoyed this book. Not a single story but a collection of tales about Kerouac's early life as a rail worker in California, as a sailor in the merchant marine and as a traveller across America and Europe, stories in which he captures a sense of time and place and a way of life long past. ...more
