This is a wonderful book about an ex-patriate lady living with her husband in Macau. She is suffering from a personal crisis that has put her in a deep depression when she sees a space for rent and has the idea to start a bakery. She loves French 'macarons' and decides to devote her bakery to making them. Through her bakery, she also finds friends who are supportive, and who in turn need her support. The bakery becomes her life and more, as it leads to her salvation and her future.
