Buddy read with YA Book Bloggers!
I'm happy that I actually liked this book because I was really worried I wouldn't. I think it was a little slow in the beginning, but I liked how the story unfolded. Cinder was a good main character who put up with a lot but was still kind to those around her.
I didn't like Pearl because she was just spiteful and cruel because she could be. At least with Adri she had some moments with Cinder where they interacted and their relationship (however broken) was revea ...more

“Even in the Future the Story Begins with Once Upon a Time.”
One of my favorite takes on Cinderella. The main character Cinder is a cyborg and a really good mechanic. Her life gets a little no a lot tangled with Prince Kai. When he was her to fix his Android for him. And that day her stepsister gets sick and her step-mom blames Cinder.
“She was a cyborg, and she would never go to a ball.”
We start to see more about Cinder's past about in the middle of the book. And how it impacts the now. ...more

Just a okay retelling of Cinderella with a bit of science fiction mixed in. I didn't really get into the world. There was very little to it. I guess more character driven then anything. More in Cinder head. I say if you know Cinderella story you'll likely to pick up where this is going. Ending does got me wanting to know more. 3.5

Fantastic start to a series! Cinder the cyborg is a wonderful character and I cannot wait to see what happens with Kai!
