I really don't know how to feel about this ending. I'm not so sure I like it at all. I was really confused about Coin, and I threw the book down and refused to continue reading (at least for 3 minutes) when Finnick died. I think besides Prim's death--WHICH NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED--Finnick's death was the worst for me. He had finally reunited with his beloved Annie, married her, and then he died?! How this is fair? I really don't know how to feel about this ending. I'm not so sure I like it at all. I think besides Prim's death--WHICH NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED--Finnick's death was the worst for me. He had finally reunited with his beloved Annie, married her, and then he died?! How this is fair? I understand that Collins was trying to portray the unjust horrors of war, but that was just cruel. Honestly, I would have traded Katniss and Peeta for Finnick. Katniss wasn't half as in love with Peeta as Finnick was with Annie; Finnick deserved to live. Katniss gets to spend at least the next twenty years with Peeta and their children, when a few chapters earlier, she was contemplating every possible means of suicide? No. And Prim! I REALLY wish she would have survived. Again, I'd trade Katniss for Prim. Prim was so much more deserving.

After Peeta had been hijacked, I was really worried because his love for Katniss was so pure. It was horrible to see his negative reactions to her afterward. What I didn't want to happen was for Katniss to abandon him...which she did. Ugh, Katniss can be such a bitch sometimes. If you need some drunk guy to tell you how to treat the guy you're contemplating being with--seriously, who needs to contemplate these things?!--then you obviously don't deserve him.

I'm all for female characters, and I love when they're flawed. I could rant about how much I hate glorified female leads. I really, really adored Katniss...up until Mockingjay. I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden she became horrible self-centered and...I don't know. I understand that she went through traumatic events that seriously damaged her mentally and physically, but there's no need to be a dick about it.

OH. Oh. What is with the vote for the next Hunger Games?! Absolutely not! I was so angry when Katniss and Haymitch said yes. WHY DID YOU SAY YES?! She even REALIZED that everything they were doing was what Snow's reign did, so why?!?!?!

Also, I hate how they just sum up the rebellion take-over after Katniss gets hit with the fire. Like, "Oh so this really important thing happened, but I don't wanna go into detail about it because that would take a lot of thought, so here's a quick summary of what you missed while you were unconscious." I totally would I loved this book more if Katniss was the one leading the takeover, if we got to follow her through it. Not be unconscious while the most important part happens. I feel like I'd like Katniss a bit more, too.

Ugh. Now I'm all angry and worked up...

BUT SERIOUSLY, PRIM DIED?!?!?! I can't get over it! She was the best character! *distraught*
