This was such a fun, modern retelling of A Christmas Carol. Sure, the dialogue was blatantly YA (which can often be a turnoff for me), but the fact that it was extremely self-aware of this as well as having a really fun, engaging and imaginative plot made me still able to enjoy it. If you’re looking for an enjoyable Christmas read that offers a unique homage not only the original A Christmas Carol but also references other Dickens classics, then you’re in for a real treat.

I completely knew what I was getting into.

Let us laugh.

Despite the rating, I did enjoy this retelling of A Christmas Carol. It's filled with cliches and annoying Dickens references and awful characters. There were several points when I was going to stop reading, but I oddly couldn't. It was like watching the aftermath of a car crash, but the traffic kept coming and created a giant pile-up. ...more

This was a really good book. I loved the beginning and the end but a few parts in the middle hit the typical YA romancey scene that made me want to put it down. I am glad I didn't since i was actually a major part of her story. ...more
