incredible story of Bruce Olson and the Motilones, and how he just went and lived with these people with formal missionary support and won them to Christ. Awesome to see God work in his live and the Motilone people. He is working on translating the Bible into there language. It was great book that shows Olsons love for this tribe in South America, I think along the borders of Colombia, and Ecuador????.

Wow, what an amazing account! Fascinating learning about the language and customs of these remote people, and the danger that Bruce and others faced for the sake of the gospel. What a convicting thing to read, when as Americans we are mostly at ease in our lives, and me in particular!
There was, perhaps, too much conformity to culture, especially concerning the witch doctor and the Bible translation. It IS quite a big thing to change the Scriptures, though I can understand the reasoning behind it ...more

This is an autobiographical account of a Minnesotan who at age 19 moves to Colombia to live among the Motilone Indians who were known as extremely vicious toward outsiders. First, there is Bruce Olson’s background, and then after surviving an arrow to the thigh in his first encounter, we go on to read of amazing events that eventually lead to many Motilones coming to faith in Christ.
