At first it was hard going back and forth between the two stories but by the end I couldn't put it down. I would have loved a book on just her grandmother and her life.

The Scarlet Thread by Francine Rivers is contemporary fiction about God’s sovereignty and faithfulness. After 13 years of marriage, Alex decides on his own to leave his steady job for an opportunity in California as a video game designer. His wife, Sierra, does not want to move and becomes angry and bitter. I particularly liked reading the part about the issues in the contemporary marriage. There is a lot of arguing and selfishness in this book, which is a bit hard to wade through in the first half or more of the book. There are lessons for all of us, to trust Christ and His sovereign plan, follow His ways, turn from selfishness, be submissive wives, and more, but it still is rather painful to read. There are one or two sections I skimmed over, as they are a little more intimate than I'm comfortable with (kissing passionately and the like). The end of the book is better in a way, b

It was addicting immersing myself in these women's lives. Brought together wonderfully in the end. An easy, enjoyable read! 4.5 stars in my opinion.

Just finished reading scarlet thread,twas another beautiful piece by francine.She doesn't dissapoint me at all.It reminds me of how God is the perfect master planner and how he can make pain beautiful at the end.

A really easy read. Another one that is hard to put down, especially because of the way it is written. The story follows two women from two different centries, one current day and one from the 1800's.
