There is something to be said for rereads. I read this one more slowly this time, savoring the language and the scenes. I love dessert. It's my favorite meal. And I always eat my dessert very slowly. Sadly, I read this so fast the first time, since Ms. Stuart hadn't put out a book a while before this one, too fast to truly take in and appreciate all the nuances. I really wanted to like this book and it did start off ok but when I started skipping pages, and I mean a lot of pages, I knew it wasn't for me. It seemed to get bogged down around the 2/3 mark with little happening to hold my interest. Wasn't able to finish it as it seemed like a chore to keep on going. Seemed like a waste of time.

When it comes to dangerous heroes, I think Bastien might top the list! He is completely ruthless and the scene where he doesn't seem to care whether she is killed or not is kinda hard to take in a romance hero. But like Chloe though, his danger and ruthlessness are just part of his appeal. He's not the easiest character to like, but trust me, you will like him!
