Fun, moving read. Louisa Clark is a normal girl living a small town life until she loses her job in a cafe and ends up as a caregiver for a quadraplegic man named Will. Despite a rocky start, they slowly become friends--and they slowly begin to change each other's lives. When Lou discovers that Will no longer has the will to carry on, she goes on a mission to change his mind. But will it be enough?

This isn't the kind of book I usually go for, not one that I highlight passages of poetic language wonder about structure, although the narrative structure was interesting in that the author whilst predominantly writing from one point of view, that of Lou, the caregiver, she does give one chapter to each of the ancillary characters, with the exception of Will, who is the character Lou is taking care of. But I give this book 4 stars because it was like watching a really good drama on TV, it deman

Every once in a while I come across a book I cannot put down and spend the evening into early morning finishing it. This was one of those books. From the get go I wanted to know more about Will and the Traynor's.
Louisa Clark needs a job and at the old age of 26 she's done nothing more fanny about at a local bakery. The Traynor's need assistance in taking care of their son, who two years previously became a quadriplegic due to a freak accident. Her first meeting with Will doesn't go well, he's ac ...more

This book was not a chore to read. The characters and story was pleasant, but the ending was quite predictable. I would probably classify this as a nice airplane book.

Okay. Am I the only one who thought this book is a bit "trying too hard"? I can't relate to the characters, especially the heroine Lou, who seemed to be not consistent throughout the book. The writer tried so hard to make me sympathize with her but I didn't feel it at all. The main theme is actually pretty interesting and a bit promising. But the cliche of it all - meh. And the ending, albeit not too cliche, couldn't capture my heart as well - even though usually I love heartbreaking ending. But

We learn that if you have the misfortune to be handicapped, it helps to have oodles of money. The book is engaging, although I felt manipulated at times and the character development is threadbare. Nonetheless, I couldn't quit listening to the audio version of the book and had another "lost weekend" reading this book into the wee hours. I appreciate the research the author put in.

The love story of Will Traynor and Louisa Clark is too big to encapsulate in a few paragraphs, and I think I need to let it sit with me for awhile before I can attempt to express my feelings. Suffice it to say this is a beautifully written book and although you might wish it to be different, it feels real and true and maybe even a little right.
