Lots of hills and valleys in this one - some parts were good, others not so much. I enjoyed reading about the artist's process and the research into forgery. I also knew nothing about the Gardner heist so that was fun to read about. I do enjoy when author's take a real event and play with it. A bit hard to believe a painter so young could be good enough to create a Degas forgery, however. So, if you read, just go with it. :)

I loved this book but I have to qualify it a little by saying I was an art major in college and a lot of the long descriptions of technique, of the artists' styles and work, and of history here in Boston was stuff I just ca't get enough of. That being said, I thought some of the characters were rather stereotypical and there were a few plot twists that I found to be quite a stretch.
Still, if you love art, if you love the Gardner Museum, and you love Boston, you'll enjoy this as much as I did. ...more

This is one of the best audiobooks I've read/listened to. The narrator was fantastic. The book itself was great, but I have to give a nod to Xe Sands.
