I was blown away by the ending. Seriously. It's so heartbreaking but so right. The story itself is very engaging, lots of drama, thrilling action and decent portion of romance. What I love the most is the struggle that Vianne and Isabelle have with their relationship as sisters. I love Vianne so much and for me she's the true Nightingale. Isabelle is ok, brave and heroic but she's just too self absorbed for my taste. Anyway, this is my first time reading Kristin Hannah and I'm glad to know that

An exceptional book that tells of the hardships encountered by the French women during WW2. The author shared the fear and deprivation experienced by the women in vivid detail and I found myself immersed in the story and unable to put the book down. This is a great read. I highly recommend it.
