What Members Thought
This was an absolutely brilliant work of historical fiction. The first chapter left me completely breathless. This story of the Italian resistance was enlightening to me because, despite my love of literature about WWII, I have read little about Italy’s role.
Characterizations were colorful, effective, and varied. From the immense kindness shown to the utmost cruelty, it was an amazing character study. The courage and grit shown by the resistance was heartrending.

I had to put this one down. Too many tangles in terms of characters and I just wasn't in the mood. I might try it again at another date.
