This story of a mother's suicide and how her teenage daughter copes with it was one that I had high hopes for. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work. None of the characters move beyond a two-dimensional state, and most of them are fairly nasty people, especially Hideki and Hanae. Pity, this could have been more. I don't think I'll be reading any other books by this author. Two stars overall.
