Oh Wallander. We were off to a really good start, and then you do this to me.
Quick and dirty review:
- Starts off like the first Wallander book, lots of coffee, sandwiches, grumpiness, and police procedural.
- Police procedural gets Wallander sent to Latvia in 1991, so just after the Iron Curtain falls.
- Huge basket case of issues going on as expected in a Soviet police force, as well as being watched as a foreign national in a Soviet country. Wallander gets fixated on the one issue that is obvio ...more

Me gustó más que el primero, no me pareció tan seco y sobre todo me gustó que esté ambientado en Letonia. Sin embargo, me pareció un poco denso y repetitivo en algunas partes.

Mystery / crime
This book started off really well. It was partially set in Riga, Lativa, where Inspector Kurt Wallander had to follow through on his case. I was struck by how different the description of Cold War Riga in 1991 was to the Riga I visited a couple of years ago.
Its the second book in the Inspector Kurt Wallander series - I will probably track dow the others to read
