What Members Thought
This is a very fine book, and I plan to reread it at some time. The setting is India which is populated with a wonderful cast of characters. The story is dark, as life in India is harsh and complicated. I highly recommend this very worthy book.
I read the abridged version, which as a mistake, as I was intimidated by the 24 hour length of the unabridged version. Even so I really liked the interweaving stories with the backdrop of India and the partition. Now I have to get the unabridged version.
