An interesting crime novel based in a city in Peru in 2000 at a time when the government is held in place by the military trying to enforce rule against internal 'terrorism'. The narrator is the public prosecutor who has to investigate a series of bizarre murders with religious overtones, however he is halted by the kafkaesque bureaucracy .
