I remember plucking this book off the shelf at my grandparents' house because I had always heard about it. It "read like a classic" at first, but soon I got caught up in its ease. (And by the way it is not an insult from me to say "read like a classic" seeing as my favorite novels are War & Peace and Candide, but there's a certain feeling I mean to evoke by that. What can I say? Pearl S. Buck's books are always amazing to me! Particularly from this one I learn to see my life from a different point of view. Richness and poverty are just streets in our map of life. They will get you into another path of life!
