I picked this up because it was in some blog entry that said if I liked Gone Girl, I'd like this. I'd say they zeroed in on the wrong elements of Gone Girl, a classic readers advisory mistake. First I should be asked, what did I like about Gone Girl? Well it wasn't the characters, they were horrid (that's true in The Dinner too). It was more about the suspense, the pacing, how I couldn't wait to find out what happened. In The Dinner, the author tells you halfway through dinner and then goes in c ...more

This is one messed up, entitled, disgusting family. They don't believe in capital punishment; killing people for their own entertainment or convenience is understandable.

Loved this - dark and creepy. A surprise at every turn. The audiobook was excellent.

Creepy and fascinating, it becomes more and more repellent but I finished it in six hours.

Thanks to Random House for sending me an ARC, by mistake, I think.
