The storyline and the romance between the characters should have readers enjoying every bit of this story. (Those two had built up tension between them, and they needed to get it out)

This was a really good book. I had my doubts about Evie in the beginning but she truly did grow on me. Blue was pretty awesome his self. He was already pretty kick ass but his whole protective/in love side just makes him amazing. This couple is so great together I could read another full book about them. 4.5 Stars

I’m always a sucker for stories about forbidden love and this is no different. Corbin owes Michael everything. He took him in when he would’ve had no hopes for a future. Gave him a purpose and a life. And the one rule is that none of the guys are to get close to his daughter. Not in that way. But Corbin’s never been able to stop his attraction to her.

The explosion and attack on the assassins that we already saw in LAST KISS GOODNIGHT is a game changer. It brings Evie back in the game and Corbin impossibly close to her. And in that close proximity sparks are bound to fly.

Parts of the story in BLACK AND BLUE happen at the same time as book one in the series, and fill in some gaps in the storyline. It was interesting to see more of the dynamics between the guys in Michael’s team.

And then there’s Corbin and Evie. These two have incredible chemistry. The sexual tension is sky high, their banter is witty and when they finally come together? Explosive! I loved reading about them and seeing them work together, because yeah, they make an awesome team as well.

There are things they both have to get over and I liked that they didn’t throw caution to the wind. Evie knows part of Corbin’s job description is that he may have to sleep with women involved in a case. Corbin knows the man he respects most in life warned him away from his daughter. Their intentions have to be clear and serious before they take that final step.

I have to say that as much as I love a good bad boy, with blonde hair, pretty eyes and oh yeah, other than being a sexy assassin he’s also a sports celebrity (that’s his cover) totally yummylicious! But I also have to mention how much I liked Evie. She’s the type of kick ass chick I love to read about, tough but vulnerable. Prickly on the outside, but mush on the inside. LOVE IT!

But enough about them! The storyline in this book is even more engaging than the first one. Corbin is trying to find his teammates after the explosion, trying to stop whoever is trying to kill them all. Trying to find the missing Michael.

If you are not reading Gena Showalter and you love paranormal romance, then you are missing out! She can rock a story like no other.

I'm glad to see that Gena seems to be returning to her smuttier ways. I was not really into her last 2 novels because the sexuality had been turned way down. I'm not saying that a book has to have tons of sex or sexual tension to be great, but it felt like she was trying to work around her natural inclination toward sensuality. So much better than the first one..

So much sassy and hilarious scenes between the Black and the Blue..
They are couple made in havoc but sexily divine..

Finally see the inner of Corbin Blur the womanizer badass quarterback, which is a true gentleman.

Gena Showalter nailed it again with this book.. awesome..

This story started out slow and I never really got into. Blue and Evie had some very funny moments together, but I never truly connected with either one of them. It was a struggle just to finish it.

Evie constantly berated Blue for being a "man-whore" but in the same time wanted to be one of his long list of many. Beyond their connection of Michael, Evie's father and Blue's boss, they have absolutely nothing in common. They had sex a couple of times and the rest of the story was just page fillers ...more
