Rarely, do I get excited for new releases anymore because series tend to flounder here and there as they go.

BUT...since both book 1 and 2 were epic, my hopes are higher than normal.

The epic, thrilling and action-packed conclusion to the Penryn and the End of Days trilogy. If you haven't read it yet you're misssing out on one of the best dystopian/scifi/apocalyptic YA books out there. Penryn is a strong and badass heroine who'll risk everything for her family and in doing so she'll end up teaming up with the enemy, and angel whose wings have been ripped off. This last installment is everything I wanted and althought I would have loved a few more pages in the end, it's been The epic, thrilling and action-packed conclusion to the Penryn and the End of Days trilogy. If you haven't read it yet you're misssing out on one of the best dystopian/scifi/apocalyptic YA books out there. Penryn is a strong and badass heroine who'll risk everything for her family and in doing so she'll end up teaming up with the enemy, and angel whose wings have been ripped off. This last installment is everything I wanted and althought I would have loved a few more pages in the end, it's been a hell of a ride since the begining. Go. Read it. You won't be disappointed.

No me puedo creer que la historia de Penryn y Raffe haya acabado ya; la historia de una chica intentando salvar a su hermana en un mundo apocalíptico destruído por los ángeles, de un ángel que intentaba recuperar sus alas y de cómo acaban por formar una extraña alianza que desde la primera hoja funciona.

Cuando la trilogía empezó hace unos años con Angelfall, ese ebook autopublicado que fue un auténtico boom y que sorprendió a propios y extraños, ya se veía que la historia era especial. Era YA pero sin querer restringirse, era creepy, algo gore, tenía momentos escalofriantes y que te partían el corazón y hablaba de la supervivencia de la raza humana tras la invasión de los ángeles. Estos ángeles eran guerreros, los soldados del Antiguo Testamento, y no le estaban poniendo las cosas nada fáciles a los supervivientes humanos.

El resto de libros ha seguido la estela del primero, que en mi opinión es el mejor de todos, aunque estos no se quedan atrás. Al acabar el 2º y saber que finalmente iba a ser una trilogía me pregunté cómo Susan Ee iba a solucionarlo todo en un sólo libro y, aunque lo hace, y muy bien, sigo pensando que podría haber dado más de si y que se podrían haber atado más ciertas cosas. Dicho esto, el final me ha encantado, han pasado cosas que no me esperaba para nada y me han sorprendido y gustado a partes iguales (view spoiler), pero me han faltado hojas en el final jajajaja me hubiera gustado ver más de ese world after after. Sin embargo, lo entiendo, al final ésta es la historia de Penryn, y una vez su lucha acaba, extendiéndose a toda la de la resistencia, también lo hace el libro. Estoy muy satisfecha con cómo han quedado las cosas, ha habido mucha acción y momentos más románticos entre Penryn y Raffe que he amado. Susan Ee ha sabido equilibrarlo todo y a pesar de que no han habido muchos plot twists, los que han habido han sido muy bien ejecutados.

Echaré de menos a estos personajes. Penryn and the End of Days se ha convertido en una de mis trilogías favoritas y una que me veo volviendo a releer en el futuro; Penryn y Raffe, su witty banter, la acción y todos esos momentos creepy lo merecen. ...more
