This was an excellent book! The main character Liam Rider a former basketball star at Brick Memorial High School let his temper get the best of him near the end of an important game and he brutally beat up a competitor. After the opponent's parents decided they want to press charges against Liam for assault and battery. I picked up and read Towering Pines in August at the book release event in NJ. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when I picked it up, I just knew that I had already read Sands of Time by this author and enjoyed it thoroughly -- but I knew that this book was different from what the author told me when I got it signed.
