Home, sweet home. Another read (and a multiple reread) from the young old me. A multifold lovely story with so much folded into just one book.

I read it a long time ago (in my teens) so I plan to do a reread this year. I can't wait.

I have read this novel over 10 years ago for the first time, and then again now in 2012. I leave it with 3* (even though now I would give it closer to 2*) just because I really liked the idea of a painting showing the signs of a corrupted soul / evil person. However, the book really does get boring and all the flowery language is annoying. Considering this is supposed to be a work of "gothic-fiction," all the focus on the witty and supposedly funny and clever quips was just over the top. Since a
