Just needed to brush up on book one before freakin' finally continuing on with this series because I had genuinely forgotten what had happened in this one. Not sure what's taken me so long but I'm gonna start book two. I still really enjoyed this book and I just adore Mercy as a character. The biggest problem I have with werewolf-centric Urban Fantasy is the dominance narrative. Alphas and typically sexually-charged control structures, unquestioning loyalty and obedience, inborn instincts of submission and dominance. All of these things, when they are not a choice made by the character, skeeve the hell out of me.
