Reading "Crossing the River" it is easy to tell Harold Titus knows his stuff, this and the extensive bibliography at the back of the book. The book really puts you in 1770s complete with the language of the time, though this is bit hard to read at times. The book tells of a battle of British soldiers - the Kings own - against the local militia outside of Boston. The story make you realize how crude war is and how much more so when it was musket against musket. You can see the men fire then quick ...more
