What Members Thought

OMG ALL THE STARS TO THIS BOOK AND THEN SOME MORE!
I never thought I'd love Ready Player One so much, but how could I not?!
It's funny, smart, witty, touching, completely original and freaking awesome. The fact that it deals with issues we might actually live in the future made me think a lot about it, while also awakened in me a nerd/geeky side I didn't even knew I had.
Absolutely brilliant from the first sentence to the last one... (I already miss the characters!) ...more

Rating: 5!! Stars
Remember when I set this book to "nope"? Or when I said "Nah, it won't be my cup of tea"? Lol what was I thinking?! This was so awesome that I instantly shelved it as one of my all-time-favorite books after I had finished. Man, if you're into games (especially online games) then you'll absolutely love this, it brings back so many memories of when I used to spend all night playing MMORPGs. And, hey, even if were never into that, I totally recommend this book as well! The plot is ...more

This is a fascinating story about a quest to find an Easter egg in a virtual reality (known as the OASIS) that will make the person who finds it extremely rich, both on and offline.
I felt like I was also in this virtual world all throughout this novel, and it even felt more real than their real world (which is in an awful situation around 2044).

Meeeeh. However I'm not sure if this book was really meh or if my prolonged (and very worrying) reading slump just made it so.
Mildly interesting. Still, the world is going to shit and all people do is spend time in virtual reality? Not sure I can buy that. ...more

Ready Player One has a good plot and a rich writing style, but Will Wheaton's narration is absolutely fantastic!
