Hell. Wow. That is how you end a series. I'm an utter mess. But it was so worth it.
So basically, there was never a dull moment. After Prodigy, I was already half done but after reading Champion, I was dead. The plot had so much. War, politics, romance, disease, air raids, bombs, making love (oh yes), etc. It continued Prodigy with the story of June as she struggles to be Anden's Princeps-Elect and advise him to best run the country; and of course Day, who has to come to terms with his illness a ...more

I think I'm still just not getting the target age for the series. It's too much for the 8-12s, but it's really not sophisticated enough for the older kids. The politics is too dumbed down, everyone is either a hero or a villain, there are no shades of gray in the characterizations. The plot just has a lot of holes, it's more like a game of kids playing politics than like real nations being a war. But, and it's a big but, the emotions ring very true and that's the big strength of the book and the

This was a well-done conclusion to the series. June and Day have not seen each other since the end of the second book. June is working hard to be the princeps-elect and Day is doing his best to raise his brother and find a cure to his illness. A threat from the Colonies brings them back together to save the country that they love.
I liked how June and Day's voices have remained distinct throughout the series and that did not change in this book. I still really liked both of them and felt that the ...more

Great ending to an interesting tale! It wasn't the typical "fairy-tale" ending, probably closer to real life than not. Works beautifully and I don't find myself getting angry at a forced closure. Thanks for a great adventure!

This book was so amazing. It picked up my heart, dropped it, pulled it out and stomped on it many times and then left it craving more.
I would recommend it to readers that enjoy a god ramance as well as a lot of action and kick-ass main characters.
One of the things I love the most from this series is how both June and Day are both badass. They are equals in terms of badassery.

I've read a lot of concluding books in the past few months that have all disappointed me in one way or another. this one, thankfully, did not. I'm sad to see Day and June's saga come to an end, but it was a well executed one.

Loved it. Fast and exciting reading, with a level of emotional depth that made me cry in places. I think Marie Lu has gotten herself added to my list of authors that I will always read.

This was a great conclusion to the trilogy! Plenty of action and adventure and all the questions got answered. And I particularly liked the ending. This ended on a lot of hope.
