I originally read this book (in one sitting) back in 2013. I loved the edgy and unconventional feel of the story and its characters, so I was very excited to revisit this on audio.

I was drawn to this novel by the gorgeous cover art by Najla Qamber and the evocative title. Karina Halle truly is a master at her craft, spinning artful webs of danger and thrills. Yet she somehow manages to infuse a softer core underneath layers of violence and revenge. It is almost too easy to fall in love with Ellie and Camden in spite of their flaws, perhaps because in spite of their best efforts, the shining beauty inside them breaks through the tough outer cracks. I was very excited about this book. It has a tattoo artist in it and sounded like just my thing. And, after a few days I am still not completely sure how I feel about it. This was not at all the book that I expected it to be and that was a nice change. There are a lot of surprising plot twists which made the story interesting and kept me reading. The book is well written and had a lot of potential.

What a pleasant surprise, any time you read a book just about in one sitting, you know you got a winner. I Loved the writing style, and the totally flawed and very real characters. This was, dark, sexy and suspenseful... And one hell of a trip for me.

This was better than I expected! Damaged characters, sexy, but also edgy and original. Not sure how to describe it. This is not the book for you if you are looking for just a sweet romance. Karina Halle takes you inside the head of a "bad" person and really gives you a good look. Ends with a cliff hanger, but worth it. Can't wait for more! ...more
