The events of the first two books in The Mortal Instruments series come to a fantastic head in this exciting and gripping third installment. Clary’s mother, Jocelyn, is in trouble, and Clary believes that she is the only one who can save her. However, in order to do so, Clary must travel to Alicante, the city of the Shadowhunters… even if it means that she is breaking the law. Danger arises when the evil Valentine’s master plan starts to take shape, and Clary has to help the Shadowhunters reali ...more

I didnt't want to write a review until I had read the entire series, so now that I am done here it goes. It was an interesting young adult series on the whole. Series is getting better in my opinion. I liked this book best, so far, because it answered more questions than it left hanging.

Likes:
* Learned about Valentine and Joselyn and their children: Jonathan and Clarissa, heard more about Valentine and his circle, learned how the Shadowhunters got started by being blessed by the Angel Raziel.
* Simon is just great in this book, loyal friend, strong fighter, sassy commenter, and girl magnet.
* Luke is still one of my favorite characters

Not only that but most of the secrets that you so desperately want answered finally are, all at once, making you feel like you've got whiplash through the whole book. Cassandra doesn't give you anytime at all to process the previous revelation before shoving the next one in your face.

The plot was insane and totally original. I had no idea what was going t

Great book! I really liked this series and I kind of enjoy that I don't really have to move on to the rest of the series if I don't want to since this book tied up all of the loose ends present in the past two novels. ...more
