Humans live underground after devastation on the Earth's service. There are three decending layers - each a separate realm but ruled by the Sun Dwellers. What starts as a glace between two people -- Tristan (son of the Ruler of the Sun Realm who is a despot) and Adele (prisoner in the Moon Realm after her parents were branded treasonus), turns into much much more.

Full of battles and strong characters with bigger social implications, the story is very strong told alternately from tristan and Ade

Enjoyable tale about a troubled world under the surface of the earth. Economic inequality has resulted in civil unrest and is the back drop for a budding romance and an action packed story of friendship and family.

Likes:
* Switching POVs between Adele and Tristan
* Bromance and friendship between Tristan and Roc
* Roc's constant wise cracks

Thank you David Estes for giving me a free copy of this book to read.
There are many things that I liked about this book, and a lot of stuff that I had a hard time overlooking to allow me to get lost in the characters lives.
First off, I really liked the setting David Estes establishes in this story. Although having a future society living under ground to survive isn't an original idea, I enjoyed the world Mr. Estes creates. I found the class distinctions believable, and it was easy to understand

I'm not going to summarize the book, because that's been done a million times already, but I will tell you my impressions. That's what I do.

Adele is a great character. She's strong and interesting and her inner dialogue is really compelling. I love how this is a YA book about a girl wanting to save her family, but Adele is still mentally surrounded by her parents and her sister. She's not living in a vacuum where we hear little about the influence her family has had on her. Even though sixteen-

Moon Dwellers was exciting, original, and well written. It was riveting from the very first chapter. David Estes made an incredible world for amazing characters that captured your heart from the first moment you read about them. The characters were well developed and the plot line original and unpredictable.

First the plot: This book is written from two points of view. First, we learn about Adele and her situation. Her parents were traitors against the president and so by default she is to so she

It is hard to put my feelings about this book into words. Every now and then a book and an author come along and their writing, their story and their characters leave an impression imprinted upon your heart long after you've closed the pages of the story. This is what David Estes did with The Moon Dwellers. It's been a few days and I can't get the story out of my head. I always know when I am in love with a book because the characters and the world created feel real, not made up.

Fate friend or Foe??
One side of the coin:
The cruel hand of fate separated Adele from the rest of her family. Torn apart and imprisoned in some fashion or another. A family accused of treason against the government. Seventeen is an age of change and growth for our heroine. Doing time and becoming numb are no longer an option for her. Especially when confronted with the bizarre reaction she has upon coming into contact with the hierarchy's son.

Distance from everyone seemed to work while riding

(Book read and reviewed for {Read It & Reap 78} in the Shut Up And Read group.)

I wish we could give .5 stars on GR, because I'd clearly put this one at 4.5/5 stars. Well, I'd put a 5/5 if not for one thing, that I'll expand on later on.

Having read David Estes's first novel, "Angel Evolution", barely a few days ago, I was amazed to discover to which extent this author's writing has developed in this new, beginning trilogy. This is clearly a work for which said author took into account various cri

I received a free copy from author David Estes (thank you!) in exchange for an honest review.

I will be the first to admit that I never really hopped on the Dystopian bandwagon. I'm not usually a sci fi-y reader. But I really enjoyed this book. The world that it is set in is (sadly) realistic and the characters are identifiable. Both MCs were caught in the web that their parents created. Whereas Adele was proud of her parents and stuck in a crappy circumstance, Tristan was pretty much the polar o
